Quality but wieghty September 2, 2010 Bike Paladin (miami, fl) This is a high quality product and would be usefull to someone like Popeye or the Hulk. Picture a stick with a 10 pound bowling ball on the end and you get a good idea what it's like to trim grass with this product. My kids fight to use out other trimmer but can't use this one for more than 2 minutes. I can't use it for more than 5.
What a trimmer!! August 29, 2010 Jennifer Lammerts Just received my trimmer and it rocks!! Assembly was VERY easy, there were no issues with the screws falling into the housing as some of the other reviews have stated. Four screws is all the assembly this trimmer requires..took me about 1 minute with a phillips screw driver. As far as the weight, it is a little bit heavier than by previous trimmer, but it is not unmanageable. Heighth adjustment is a simple twist and pull. The semi auto advance feature foe the string works very well and just the right amount of line is advanced every time! Plenty of power to get all of the jobs done around the house. All in all, this trimmer has magical powers....highly reccomended!!
The Widowmaker August 28, 2010 Jeremy Tuttle (Wilson, NC) Simply put, this string trimmer is a god among insects. I've had both electric and gas-powered string trimmers, and this Earthwise 6.25 amp juggernaut takes the cake for my favorite. I was weary because I hadn't heard of the brand "Earthwise", but they are my new favorite manufacturer! Power: it's as powerful as an entry-level gasoline trimmer and cuts like greased lightning. I don't recall having to stop even once to allow itself to "refeed" additional twine. This model does not require hitting the spool on the ground to feed wire - it just sort of happens. I was able to trim my yard in literally 1/3 the time as my old string trimmer because of the absurd power! Quality: at the time of this review, I've only used it 2 or 3 times, but the quality is top-notch and the trimmer seems to be holding up just fine. The materials are well-constructed. Ease of use: very easy to use. Has a two-button system where a tiny button must first be held, then along with the trigger to engage the motor. One downside: the trimmer is a bit heavy in comparison to other electric trimmers. However, the power more than makes up for it. The fully-adjustable length of the shaft and top-mounted handle makes this a moot point as well. Price/performance (value): the value of this string trimmer is simply outstanding. The price is 1/3 of a "professional" string trimmer, with similar performance. Due to this string trimmer's brutality with mowing down weeds, my wife and I have dubbed our Earthwise string trimmer "The Widowmaker." Enjoy yours today!
No Power Cord, good Amazon shipping August 21, 2010 S. Myint (Fort Wayne, IN USA) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I order this trimmer from amazon.com. The product arrived within 2 days. It looks sturdy and functional. But, it didn't come with a power cord. How can I operate the unit without a power cord. I don't know if anyone is having the same problem or not. When I called the customer service, the greeting message with an unpleasant, mean voice of a woman said we are handling a large volume of calls so leave a message. I figure a lot of people who bought this were calling to wonder where the power cord was. I gave this 2 star for speedy shipping. For product alone, I would have given it a 1 star. Disappointed.
